Queue up a series of DLPs

LENA Tip: Queuing multiple files

If you have more DLPs recording files to assign, you may connect the next DLP now, while the first file is still compressing.

Assign the recording to initiate transfer.  After Transferring, the status changes to Pending. The now empty DLP may be disconnected, and a third DLP connected.

You may continue connecting a series of DLPs, one at a time.  As each file finishes compressing, the next one will automatically move from Pending to Compressing.

1. Wait for the last file's status to read "Compressing" or "Pending."

  1. Disconnect that file's DLP (in this case, #3551).
  2. Power up and then connect the next DLP (#8114).
Wait for the last file's status to read "Compressing" or "Pending."

2. Assign the file.

Follow the usual procedures to assign to an existing child, or add a new child and then assign.

Assign the file.

3. Select the time zone if prompted.

Select the time zone if prompted.

4. Second file begins transferring.

Second file begins transferring.

5. Second file's status changes to Pending.

LENA compresses one file at a time, in the order of upload.

Pending status indicates that file transfer is complete, and the file is waiting for compression.

The DLP is empty and ready to prepare for the next use.

If you have additional DLPs to queue up, return to Step 1 of these instructions for each DLP in sequence.

Second file's status changes to Pending.

6. Second file's status changes to "Compressing."

Second file's status changes to "Compressing."

7. After compression, status changes to "Finished."

All finished files are stored in LENA Collector until it is convenient to make a bulk transfer to the LENA Flash Drive.

After compression, status changes to "Finished."
