Edit Child Information in LENA Pro Client Manager

Editable fields include First Name, Last Name, Birth Date, Gender, Child ID, Client/Group, and Notes.

Important:  Correcting a child's date of birth does not correct the output data for any files that have already been processed or are currently being processed.  Those files must be manually reprocessed by LENA Support. See below for more detail.

1. In Client Manager, highlight the child you wish to edit, and then click Edit.

2. Use the Child Information panel to edit as needed.

Edit Name, Gender, ID, or Notes as necessary by typing the changes into the fields.  

Read on for special instructions for Group assignment and Birth Date edits.

2.1. Group assignment edits:

  1. Click the ... ellipsis button to see the list of existing Groups.
  2. If the child already belongs to a group, click Unassign. (To leave the child unassigned, skip to step 4.)
  3. To assign a Group, highlight the correct Client/Group in the list.
  4. Click OK.

Special notes:

  • Editing a birth date is easy, but...correcting the birth date during or after processing does not correct the data for processed files.
  • During processing, LENA applies algorithms specific to the child's age in months, as calculated by the birth date in the system at the onset of processing.  A difference of even a month or two may alter the output data.
  • Any files processed with the incorrect birth date must be manually reprocessed by LENA Support to ensure the data are correct.

To edit the birth date:

  1. Use the drop-down calendar to select the correct date, or
  2. Type or use the arrow keys to adjust the MM/DD/YYYY in the Birth Date field and double check with the drop-down calendar.

3. Click Save.

If you've edited the birth date, you will see a reminder that previously processed files may need to be reprocessed because of the change in age.  

Click OK to proceed with the change, and contact LENA Support as soon as possible for help reprocessing existing files.

Click Save.

4. View the updated information in the Client Manager table.
