Export a list of all recording files: Daily CSV, all children, all dates
A Daily CSV for all Children, all dates is a master record of all recording files for all active children in your LENA database. It should be exported prior to performing any data merge, move, or cleanup.
Note: The resulting export will contain data for active child records only. If you are preparing for a supported database merge or reprocessing, first check to see whether you have any inactive child records. If you do, please contact LENA Support for next steps.
The CSV export presents the LENA Core Report, AVA, and Developmental Snapshot measures in tabular format, including:
- Adult Words - actual counts, plus projected counts and percentiles where applicable (i.e., at the Daily or Monthly resolution for files containing >10 hours within a calendar day)
- Conversational Turns - actual counts, plus projected counts and percentiles where applicable
- Child Vocalizations - actual counts, plus projected counts and percentiles where applicable
- Audio Environment summary information (percent “Meaningful,” “Distant,” “TV & Electronic Sounds,”, “Silence & Background,” and “Noise”)
- AVA Report Data - standard scores and percentiles, daily and averaged where applicable
- Snapshot Report Data - developmental age, standard score, and percentile
Tip: The following instructions can be adapted to meet other export goals. Simply adjust the time resolution, select a specific date or date range, select a specific child or children, and/or deselect any of the specific reports.
3. Select desired elements (resolution), dates, children, and reports.
The following instructions are specific to a daily CSV for all children, all dates as required prior to a data move or merge.
To customize this export to suit other needs, adjust the time resolution, select a specific date or date range, and/or select a specific child or children.
3.1. Under Report Elements, click the Daily radio button.
- This will export a .csv with one row per recording day per child selected (as long as data exist in the system for that child).
- Each row will display the child's child key, ID, last name, first name, birthdate, age on recording date, gender, and the DLP and filename associated with that recording date.
5. Save to a convenient location of your choice.
If the export is in preparation for a database merge, move, or clean-up, remember to save it to a location that will be accessible during that activity - perhaps a network location or external hard drive.
LENA will automatically name the exported file in the following way:
LENA Export (Time resolution) YYYMMDD HHMMSS.filetype
Example: LENA Export (Daily) 20140320 083436.csv
- Date in YYYYMMDD format indicates the date of the export (March 20, 2014 in this example)
- Time in HHMMSS 24-hour format indicates the time of the export (8:34:36 a.m. in this example)
If the CSV export is in preparation for a database merge please alter the filename to identify the source computer.
For example,
LENA Export (Daily) 20140320 083436_LanguageLab.csv
