LENA Pro basic orientation and navigation

This article is a very general overview.  Detailed instructions for using each area are in corresponding manuals.

The top portion of every LENA Pro screen serves as a navigation bar.

These shortcut icons provide quick access to the six major areas within the software.  Each area's general purpose is summarized below.

Client Manager

Client Manager is your home screen for entering and managing all participants, from demographic information to DLP assignments.

Highlight any child to access to the next 3 icons:  LENA Reports, Developmental Snapshot, and Automatic Vocalization Assessment.  When no child is selected, these three icons are hidden.

LENA Reports

The LENA Reports area is the gateway to exploring and exporting all of your processed LENA data.  There's a lot to do here!

Here's the least you need to know about the LENA Reports area:

  • For each child you can view all counts, percentiles, and built-in assessment scores collected over time using the LENA system.
  • Data are displayed in tabular and graphical format, and graphs can be viewed at time resolutions ranging from monthly summaries to 5-minute detail.
  • At the 5-minute level you can also play back, mark, annotate, and/or export 5-minute clips of audio.

The image below points out a few of the features available in just one of the LENA Reports screens, the Report List:

Developmental Snapshot

Go to the Developmental Snapshot area to view instructions, fill out the Developmental Snapshot questionnaire, and view a cumulative graph of all Snapshot results for a child.

Settings

The Settings screen has two tabs - a General tab and a Storage tab.

  • The General tab contains product and user information, personalization and preference settings, a DLP tester, and a way to send an Error Report to LENA Support if something goes wrong.
  • The Storage tab lets you set your audio storage limit, view your data storage location, and delete or move audio.
