Show Hidden Files and Unhide File Extensions

Depending on your computer's settings, you may not be able to view the LENA data folders and file extensions necessary for creating backups of your data or doing advanced work with specific files.  

Follow these steps to gain access to these folders and extensions....but please do not alter the LENA data folders and subfolders.  Failure to maintain the integrity of the LENA data tree may result in data loss.  

Windows 7

1.1. From the Start menu, go to Control Panel.

1.3. Select the View tab.

Select the View tab.

2. Make changes.

  1. Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives.
  2. Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Click OK.
Make changes.

Windows 10

  1. In File Explorer, click the View tab in the command ribbon.
  2. Click Options/Change folder and search options.
  3. Start on Step 1.3, above.
