Set DLP Unassignment Preference

Use the Settings screen to choose whether each DLP's assignment should be preserved or removed after file transfer.

1. Go to the LENA Pro Settings screen, General tab.

2. Mark or clear the "Unassign each DLP after transfer" box.

In most cases, it's best to keep the default setting to "Unassign each DLP after transfer."  Keeping the box checked has the following advantages:

  • You can quickly pre-assign the next available DLP to a child without having to manually unassign it.
  • You'll eliminate possible file assignment confusion.  If a DLP is not unassigned after transfer from one child (Johnny), and then goes out to a second child (Julia), LENA will still think the DLP is Johnny's even though the new recording is Julia's.  LENA will automatically highlight the wrong child in the file assignment window.  Of course you could change the selection to Julia before hitting Assign, but it could get confusing if you had a batch of DLPs to upload and all of the prompts were wrong.

However, if maintaining consistent DLP assignments is more convenient for your particular project, uncheck the box by "Unassign DLP when transfer completes."

Mark or clear the "Unassign each DLP after transfer" box.
