Play, mark, annotate, and manage audio clips within LENA Pro reports

This article describes how to work with 5-minute audio clips within LENA.  

Note that simultaneous playback and annotation within LENA Pro is not available.

Exporting clips for analysis outside of LENA Pro is described elsewhere.

1. From any LENA bar graph:

Double click a bar or use the time resolution selector to go to the 5-minute view.

Right click a 5-minute bar.

Play, mark, annotate, or unmark the clip.

1.1. Choose Playback to listen to the clip.

1.2. Choose Mark to highlight the clip and to add notes if desired.

The timestamp for that bar will be highlighted.

1.3. Choose Notes to see or edit existing notes for a marked clip.

1.4. Uncheck Mark to remove the highlighting and notes.

2. From Report List view.

  1. See the total number of marked 5-minute clips for each file in the Clips column.
  2. See existing notes for each clip in the Audio Clips tab.

2.1. Play back a marked clip.

Highlight the clip and click Play.

2.2. Edit or add notes.

Highlight the clip of interest, edit or add notes in the lower section, and click Save.

2.3. Clear existing notes.

Highlight the clip and click Clear, then Save.  

The clip remains marked, but the notes are eliminated.

2.4. Delete the clip from the list of marked sections.

Highlight the clip and click Delete.  Doing so does not delete the audio itself, just the "marked" status and any accompanying notes.
