Adult Words Report
The Adult Words report provides an estimate of the number of adult words spoken to and near the key child.
- The estimate is computed from all audio segments where LENA has identified the speaker as a male adult or female adult. All adult words are combined.
- LENA does not identify what specific words were spoken, only how many.

Orientation to the Adult Words report.
The software plots adult words on a chart for easy viewing. The vertical axis represents the total number of adult words spoken per time interval. The horizontal axis displays the interval which for data exist.
The Adult Words report contains all of the following features described elsewhere:
- drop-down child list for easy navigation among children
- time interval selector to control the viewing resolution
- date selector bar (scroll bar and drop-down calendar) to select the date and/or time of interest
- audio clip playback and export options at the 5-minute level
- print report button
- export data button
- report navigation buttons for easy navigation among one child's reports
Adult Word data are displayed as follows:
Actual words per 5-minute interval.
Actual words per hour.
Actual count per day, plus projected 12-hour count and percentile for any recording day over 10 hours long.
Any purple bar represents the 12-hour projected count.
Percentile and projected values will read N/A for recordings less than 10 hours long, and the corresponding bar will be gray.
Averaged actual counts per month, plus averaged projected 12-hour counts and percentiles if applicable.
