Install LENA Pro
This article shows how to install LENA after downloading the software.
Please review the minimum system requirements on the same page before you begin.
You will need your Product Key, included in an email or in your shipment paperwork at the time of sale. Some LENA Pro packages also require a Feature Key.
You may need administrator rights to make changes to your computer, such as installing new software.
The LENA Pro software license permits a single installation. Please install on the computer you intend to use for your work.
If installing on a newer Windows 10 computer, please also install the vcredist_x86.exe from here Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package
The LENA processing engine requires elements of Visual C++ 2008 not included by default on newer computers.
Compatibility with Windows 11 is unknown.
If installing on Windows 10+ for use with old-style devices, Install the LENA old-style recorder driver.
1. After downloading the software, open the setup file to launch the Installer.
If you see this warning, click Yes to proceed.
1.1. LENA prepares the installer.
1.2. The InstallShield Wizard opens.
Click Next to begin.
2. Enter your Product Key.
Your Product Key is a 24-digit code included in an email or in your shipment paperwork at the time of sale.
2.1. After entering your Product Key, click Next.
2.2. If prompted, enter your Feature Key.
Click Next.
3. Accept the terms in the license agreement.
Then click Next.
4. Click Next to install the LENA software in the default location.
5. Click Next to have LENA save your data in the default location.
We recommend using the default location shown.
If you would like to save your LENA data to a different location (e.g., larger internally mounted fixed hard drive), see here.
Once the program is installed, the data storage location is set. It can be changed only by uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Please choose carefully.
6. Click Install.
Monitor progress by the status bar.
7. Receive completion message.
To launch LENA right away, leave the Launch LENA box checked, and click Finish.
8. The software launches.
You will see a your Product Key, 30-day grace period end date, and the option to activate your software.
You may activate now, or any time within the 30-day grace period.
This box will appear at each launch until you have activated, or you can get to it from the Client Manager screen through Help/About.
