Error: Encountered an improper argument

This error can appear when a recorder is connected. The identified causes are:

LENA Pro has been installed on a non-English version of Windows.
The computer is running English Windows with multilingual user interface (MUI) packs installed.

LENA Pro is incompatible with many non-English versions of Windows. Reinstall LENA Pro on a computer with English Windows.

First, set your computer's display language to English. Sign out/reboot to apply the change, and try connecting the recorder again.

If the error persists, try removing the MUI packs. Reboot, and try connecting the recorder again.

If the error persists after MUI pack removal, you will need to do one of the following:

reinstall English Windows without any MUI packs, and reinstall LENA Pro
relocate LENA Pro to a different computer that is running English Windows without MUI packs installed.
