How many children can I record using one device?
Each recorder can be assigned to an unlimited number of individuals over time.
It all depends on what works best for your project and your participants.
Some users choose to assign one recorder to each participant, and keep that assignment throughout their project. There is an option under Settings that keeps the recorder assigned after transfer. This method is consistent, but inflexible.
Others rotate the recorders through their system, reassigning with each use. This method is most flexible, but requires good record-keeping so that recordings are assigned properly at transfer.
Whatever you choose, the recorder should contain only ONE person's data at a time!
When you transfer the data from a recorder to LENA Pro, you assign all of it to a single individual. All recordings on the device constitute a single file.
Separating out different individuals' recordings from a single file is not possible.
If your work involves shorter recordings of multiple children, you'll need a way to upload each recording before collecting the next. Alternatively you may need to adjust the number of devices in your fleet to meet the demands of your recording schedule.
